Linden has the same two wet seasons as the coast, with slightly hotter days inland. None of its sights depends much on the weather, though the road south certainly does.

February to April: dry season
Bright weather, strong colour in the blue lakes and easy driving. Easter and the town’s own festival week bring events.
May to mid-August: long rains
Heavy showers; creeks run high and the trail south of Linden becomes slow and muddy.
Mid-August to November: second dry season
Hot and dry, with low water on the Essequibo for the Rockstone festival and fishing.
December and January: short rains
Showery, with creek resorts busy over Christmas and New Year.

Visitor numbers & booking ahead
Tourist crowds do not exist here. Creek resorts fill with local families on Sundays and public holidays, and Linden’s few hotels are booked out for Town Week and the fish festival. Otherwise you can simply turn up.
