GuyanaTravel.com is an independent guide to travelling in Guyana. It is built as a portal: a country-wide layer of planning advice — itineraries, transport, seasons, wildlife, practicalities — and eleven destination guides, each with its own pages for tours, things to see, getting there, practical tips and the best time to go.
How we work
- Practical first. We write for people planning a real trip: how long things take, what needs booking, what can go wrong and what to do instead.
- Honest about limits. Prices, flight schedules, road conditions and entry rules change, and in Guyana they change often. Where a figure is likely to move we say “around” and tell you where to check.
- Real tours only. Every tour we feature is a live product on GetYourGuide, checked against its partner feed. GetYourGuide has very little for Guyana beyond Georgetown and Kaieteur, and we say so on every destination rather than filling the gap with unrelated listings.
- Respect for places. Much of what visitors come to see is on Indigenous land and is cared for by the communities who live there. We encourage booking community-run lodges and following their rules.
How the site is funded
The site is free to use and carries no display advertising. It is supported by affiliate links: if you book a tour through GetYourGuide or a hotel through Trip.com after following a link from this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend. See our affiliate disclosure.
Images
All photographs are freely licensed images from Wikimedia Commons. Authors and licences are listed on the image credits page. A few wildlife photographs show the species in a neighbouring country rather than in Guyana itself; captions describe only what is in the picture.
